Roy Keane has told ITV Sport that Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold was swearing a lot as he wandered off for England last night.
Alexander-Arnold was forced off with injury during England’s game against Austria last night, with his Euro 2020 hopes now hanging by a threat.
Gareth Southgate could not give a definitive update on the Liverpool full-back’s problem after the game.
However, he did admit that things didn’t look good for Alexander-Arnold, and Keane came to a similar conclusion.
The 22-year-old wandered past the ITV pundits as he trudged off down the tunnel.
And Keane said: “It certainly didn’t [look good]. We are quick to jump the gun on how serious it might be, but he obviously was walking past us and he looked really uncomfortable. He was swearing quite a bit and it doesn’t look good. The guy looks in big trouble.”
Bad news for England
Alexander-Arnold has fought so hard to break into England’s team it will be a heartbreaking moment if he was to miss out now.

The Liverpool full-back has been in excellent form since he was dropped by Southgate in March.
Alexander-Arnold actually was set to play the whole game for the Three Lions last night, but he wasn’t quite at his best.
England still managed to pick up a 1-0 win to boost confidence heading into the international tournament.
If Alexander-Arnold doesn’t make it the likes of Jesse Lingard and James Ward-Prowse will surely come into contention.
