Roy Keane shared that Jurgen Klopp was shouting at his Liverpool players to ‘be brave’ as they were under the cosh against Manchester City.
The outspoken TV pundit shared that Liverpool, in the first half, were playing like a ‘lower league’ team in the FA Cup, as he told Super Sunday on Sky Sports (03/10/21 at 5:30 pm).
Even Liverpool fans would have been glad to have come out of the first 45 minutes with the game goalless because it was non-stop pressure from the away side.
But Klopp showcased why he is one of the best in the world because, during the second period, his team came out and started throwing heavy blows of their own.
It worked because Liverpool scored two second-half goals, including opening the scoring, but they couldn’t stop conceding the same number on the other side.
Nonetheless, this is what Keane noticed Klopp shouting at his players when they were in trouble against Man City
“It’s Man City’s quality,” said Keane. “I think Jurgen was shouting from the touchline ‘be brave’.
“But it’s all good being brave if you don’t have the ball. Liverpool are playing (in first half) like they are out of their depth. Like they are a lower league team playing in the FA Cup against a big team.”

It’s a shame that Klopp doesn’t have the squad depth to choose from like Pep Guardiola.
If the boot was on the other foot then the German might have won the European Cup with this Man City team by now because their bench can look incredible, never mind their starting XI.
But when it comes to strongest starting XI’s, Liverpool can argue that they have one of the best in the land.
They probably didn’t splash the cash in a crazy fashion this summer to add to their squad, but one thing that hasn’t left them is the quality inside it.
