Roy Keane savaged Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson in a very Roy Keane-like way on Friday.

England lost their first qualifier in 10 years as Gareth Southgate’s side went down 2-1 away to Czech Republic, despite taking the lead through Harry Kane after five minutes.

Virtually nobody in an England shirt had a brilliant game, but this was definitely true of the Liverpool captain.

Henderson, who inspired the Reds to Champions League success in June, was guilty of sloppy passing throughout and seemed like something of a passenger in Southgate’s XI.

The same is true of West Ham’s Declan Rice and Keane delivered a scathing assessment of the two midfielders, claiming that they might as well have been watching the game with him from the television studios, such was their lack of impact.

It’s a trademark quip from the razor-sharp Keane and here’s how neutral supporters reacted to the Manchester United legend’s cutting assessment.

Henderson, a £20 million signing by Liverpool in 2011 [The Telegraph], has been a stalwart under Jurgen Klopp in recent years and fans of the Anfield club will be hoping that he doesn’t take his international form back to Melwood with him.
