Pundit Roy Keane believes that Tottenham Hotspur have made a good signing by bringing RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner to North London.
Tottenham have pounced to add a new forward ahead of today’s trip to face Manchester United.
Spurs have seen Son Heung-min head off to the Asian Cup and Tottenham simply had to find another forward – even if only on loan.
That is the route Tottenham have gone down, taking RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner on loan for the rest of the season.
The former Chelsea man had fallen down the RB Leipzig pecking order and now finds himself back in the Premier League for another chance at success in England.

Sources tell HITC Football that Tottenham can turn Werner’s loan move permanent for around £15.5million at the end of the season.
That could prove to be a bargain if Werner excels under Ange Postecoglou, which is a real possibility given his pace and movement in the final third.
Werner will be looking to make a fast start to life as a Spurs player, and that begins this afternoon.
Tottenham take on Manchester United this afternoon and Werner has been named in the start lineup by Postecoglou.
The signing of Werner has divided opinion with some believing that he simply isn’t good enough for the Premier League based on his time at Chelsea.
Pundit Roy Keane actually thinks that this is a good signing for Tottenham, telling Sky Sports that he likes this move for Spurs.

Keane believes that Werner’s work rate and pressing off the ball is a ‘big bonus’ for Tottenham and that the club seem like a ‘good fit’ for him.
Keane did highlight that Werner must score goals, but believes there is a chance that Werner will ultimately be a better and more mature player in his second Premier League stint.
“Of course, that’s a big bonus,” said Keane when asked about Werner’s work rate. “I think it’s obviously difficult to get real top-class players in January but I think he’s a good signing for Spurs, it seems a good fit for him, Jamie [Redknapp] talks about his off the ball work but he’ll have to come in and score goals as well, let’s not kid ourselves.”
“He won’t be the first or last player to have come to England previously and have a difficult spell and go away and come back a better player and a more mature player. I think it’s a good signing,” he added.
Werner was lethal in his first spell at RB Leipzig, sparking a big battle for his services and a subsequent move to Chelsea in 2020.
The Blues just never got the best out of Werner, sparking a 2022 return to RB Leipzig – but even that didn’t really get Werner back on track.
Now back in London, Werner will hope that Postecoglou is the man to save his career and get him firing in front of goal once again.
