Roy Keane suggested on Sky Sports Premier League (9:24pm, February 28, 2021) that Liverpool fans need to be patient with Diogo Jota.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told the club’s official website that the Portugal international winger could be back in action for the Premier League game against Chelsea this week.

The 24-year-old has not played since December 9, 2020 due to a knee injury and was expected to be in the matchday squad against Sheffield United on Sunday evening.

However, according to Klopp, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers star missed the match due to illness.

Manchester United legend Keane believes that Jota could take a while to get up to speed.

Keane said about Jota on Sky Sports Premier League (9:24pm, February 28, 2021): “He would be a big help. Of course he has been out for a few months, I think give him a chance, it may take him a few games to get up to speed.”

Staying patient

Jota was doing well when he got injured, and it could take a while for the Portugal international winger to get back to his best.

Chelsea are a strong team and are doing well under manager Thomas Tuchel at the moment, and the 24-year-old may not necessarily start against the Blues.

What is important is that Jota is given time and afforded patience to get back to his best.

According to WhoScored, Jota has scored five goals in nine Premier League appearances and has scored four goals in six Champions League games for Liverpool so far this season.
