Steve Bruce resigned as Hull City manager yesterday
Hull linked: Roy Keane
Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has been linked by the Daily Mail to the vacant managerial post at Hull City.
The former Ipswich and Sunderland manager is currently Martin O’Neill’s assistant for the Republic Of Ireland national team.
Keane’s Ireland excelled in France, memorably making it out of the Group Stages with an historic final group game victory over Italy courtesy of a Robbie Brady striker, before being knocked out by ultimate finalists and hosts France in the first knockout phase.

And Keane is said to be a candidate Hull City would take seriously should he put his name forward for the role, something he has not, as yet, decided to do.
The Irishman is currently out of contract with the FAI, but he has verbally agreed, according to the Mail, to stay on to support O’Neill as the Irish seek to qualify for the 2018 world cup.
Keane does still harbour ambitions of becoming the top-dog at a club again, having held two assistant roles since his disappointing spell at Ipswich.
Keane still wants to return to management
The former Nottingham Forest midfielder was assistant to Paul Lambert at Aston Villa before assuming his role with Ireland.
Hull City are now looking for a manager as well as new owner following Bruce’s sudden departure yesterday.
The Tigers really are stuck in a predicament, with a squad already suffering injuries and no certainty in the boardroom to allow the squad to be strengthened.

This is said to be the reason Bruce departed the KCOM after a disagreement with Ehab Allam over transfers.
And whoever the next manager is, they will be walking into very uncertain circumstances in the North East.
