Ian Wright has claimed that Roy Keane didn’t like Declan Rice’s celebration during West Ham’s FA Cup win over Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Cup, as he told ITV Sport.

When Rice equalised for the Hammers in normal time over the weekend, the midfielder pulled out a Michael Jackson dance in front of his own fans.

The England international, who didn’t start the game, came off the bench to save his side’s blushes.

Of course, the game had to go to extra-time and that’s when the non-league side suffered more heartache.

After scoring in stoppage-time to take the game beyond 90 minutes, Jarrod Bowen then poked home with seconds left on the clock to avoid his team being on the end of one of the biggest upsets in FA Cup history.

Nonetheless, whilst Wright loved Rice’s dance after he scored, he shared that Roy Keane, who was sitting next to him, didn’t like what he was seeing.

“When Declan Rice came on, he showed his class,” said Wright.

“I like this (his celebration). Roy (Keane) don’t like this Michael Jackson stuff. I like it. That’s brilliant.”

Even though it was against a non-league outfit, the game on Saturday was Rice, once again, showcasing his qualities.

He could argue that he is one of the best defensive-minded midfielders in Europe right now.

Whether it’s in Europe, for England or on the Premier League stage, nothing seems to be stopping the Rice train from surging forward and causing havoc.

Whilst Rice sits deep in West Ham’s midfield, he is slowly but surely becoming a ball-carrying expert because no one in Europe is carrying it further than the Hammers favourite.
