Roy Keane told Super Sunday on Sky Sports that the breaking news, regarding the European Super League, which involves the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, is nothing but ‘pure greed’.
Sky News report that six English clubs including the likes of, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal (plus two others) are expected to be part of plans for a breakaway league.
It would mean that the Champions League – which is considered the best and most competitive club competition in the world – would be rivalled by this controversial project.
And Keane, who doesn’t mince his words, made it clear that there is only one objective behind all this.
“I totally agree with you,” said Keane. “The last few lines you mentioned there. I think it comes down to money, greed, obviously, we have heard nothing from FIFA yet.
“But it doesn’t sound good. Let’s hope this is stopped in its tracks because I think it’s pure greed.
“We talk about big clubs. Bayern Munich are one of the biggest clubs in the world, at least they have made a stand, which is a good start.”

This doesn’t come from players, managers or the fans, but this idea comes from those in suits, who have nothing but dollar signs appearing before their eyes.
It would run the domestic game, it would destroy traditional clubs with history and allow those big-money clubs to thrive, even though some of them don’t have any history.
The audacity for some of the clubs to want a breakaway such as this when they aren’t even in the Champions League itself or/and haven’t won the European Cup.
