The former Nottingham Forest and Celtic midfielder has also criticised Spurs right-back Kieran Trippier for Paulo Dybala’s winner midway through the second half.

Keane said on the UEFA Champions League Highlights show on ITV on Wednesday night (11:03pm, March 7, 2018): “Tottenham really should have played like Juventus did when they were in front – sitting back, using their experience.”

“Trippier is looking at the ball,” Keane added. “The guy has got time on the ball. Again, stay with the runner.”

Bitter disappointment

Tottenham will be bitter disappointed with the way they conceded two goals in quick succession in the second half.

It shows that Spurs still have some catching up to do with Europe’s biggest clubs, but fans should still be proud of the players’ performances in the Champions League this season.
