West Ham United sacked Slaven Bilic and replaced him with David Moyes this week.
Bilic was sacked on Monday after a 4-1 defeat to Liverpool left West Ham languishing in the Premier League relegation zone.
Just two wins from the first 11 games ultimately did for Bilic and on Tuesday co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold replaced the Croatian with David Moyes.
The appointment has not gone down well with Hammers fans who feel it lacks the kind of ambition promised when the club left their beloved Boleyn Ground for the London Stadium last summer.
Indeed many supporters and pundits feel the appointment of Moyes, who took Sunderland down to the Championship in his last role, could even worsen West Ham’s predicament.
But there was some positivity from two high profile names in the game as Manchester United and Celtic legends Roy Keane and Neil Lennon backed the Scotsman to do well in East London.
“I think it’s par for the course now yea (managers not being given time to turn things around), managers certainly not getting enough time, managers getting pre-judged,” Keane told Sky Sports.
“There’s a lot of media spin about certain managers out there, I probably don’t want to go into that today I’ll just focus on the (Ireland) games, but it’s tough being a manager out there at the moment, that’s why I’m probably better off staying here.
“I think people who know the game have huge respect for David Moyes.”
And Lennon, now manager of Hibernian, described Moyes as a solid appointment.
“I think David Moyes is a fantastic manager,” Lennon told Sky Sports.
“I think it’s a solid appointment and I think it’s just what West Ham need at this moment in time.”
