Wilfried Zaha’s England career ended after two caps, with Roy Hodgson opting against relying on the winger, but the pair are reportedly set to link up again.

Frank de Boer’s dismal Crystal Palace reign has come to an end and former England manager Roy Hodgson is set to take the job – according to the Evening Standard.
Andros Townsend, who starred for the Three Lions under Hodgson, will surely welcome the news, but there are some Palace players who might not be so delighted.

Wilfried Zaha is now an Ivory Coast international, having been given his England bow by Hodgson in 2012.
However, the reason for this switch – per the Guardian – appears to have been a lack of opportunities granted by Hodgson after Zaha returned to Palace from Manchester United in 2014.

At Selhurst Park, Zaha is the star man, Palace’s chief creator and most exciting player – he is popular with fans, too.
Hodgson’s first task now, after taking the job, must be to ensure there is no rift with Zaha over the previous snubs as he must get the winger fit and firing to aid Palace’s survival bid.
Zaha tweeted on Monday, ahead of Hodgson’s appointment, that he was back running again after an injury and that can only be good news for Palace – as long as the new manager puts his faith in the 24-year-old.
