Ally McCoist has stated that Roy Keane must be ‘some poker player’ after spending time with the Celtic-linked boss on Thursday night, as he told BT Sport.
Both were doing punditry work for ITV, as McCoist shared that Keane ‘didn’t tell me a thing’ about whether or not he will become Celtic’s next manager.
The Scottish Sun have claimed that the Manchester United legend would be keen on taking the managerial hot seat at Parkhead following Neil Lennon’s departure.
McCoist was asked by fellow pundit Chris Sutton whether he had an ‘exclusive’ regarding Keane/Celtic after spending time with him this week.
“You know there’s nobody within football itself that loves a name drop more than me,” said McCoist.
“I was with Roy Keane last night (Thursday) at Wembley. Roy and I chatted for at least 20 minutes.
“And I can tell you all that he didn’t tell me a thing (Sutton and presenter Darrell Currie burst with laughter).
“I wasn’t so sure to ask him. Every two minutes I asked him a question, nevermind a great footballer, I bet he is some card player. He would be some poker player that Roy Keane.”

From a characteristic standpoint, Keane would be perfect for this Celtic dressing room because it needs kicking up the backside after the humiliation of this season.
But it would be a worry to give Keane the job because it’s been some while since he has taken the hot seat on his own.
If it was announced that the Irishman would join the club’s backroom staff then not many Celtic fans would mind, but other than that, there will be worry and questions asked.
