Birmingham manager Gary Rowett has stated that the club have learned from mistakes made in the January transfer window.

Birmingham City have a made a bright start to their 2016/17 Championship campaign with manager Gary Rowett leading the way for the Midlands side. As reported by Birmingham Mail, Rowett has recently spoken about last season’s January transfer window and how they’ve learned from it.
The month-long window saw the manager add James Vaughan, Diego Fabbrini and more to the squad, which went on to coincide with a poor run of results.
“I think we learnt a lot from that,” said Rowett in the Mail.
“We wanted to strengthen more at the start of this season and work with that group until the end of the season, rather than be very reactionary in January and for me to try and find a solution.

“If I look back now at last January we added too many players which ended up giving us that instability in terms of not getting the team selection consistent, because you’re always looking at putting other players in because you think they deserve it.”
The prospect of the club learning from their mistakes is a scary one for the rest of the league, as Rowett has already proven what he can do in his time at St Andrew’s so far. They’ve got a winnable run of fixtures coming up and if they can build some momentum, they could find themselves with a comfortable cushion in the upper echelons of the league table.
The next test for the Blues is a trip to Loftus Road to face QPR this weekend as they continue their push for a place in the top six.
