Sunderland and Norwich City have been linked with Derby County’s Chris Martin.

Chris Martin may be struggling for playing time at Derby County at the moment, but the 29-year-old striker has been linked with Leeds United, Sunderland and Norwich City.
Earlier this week, Sky Sports reported of Leeds’s interest in signing Martin on loan from Championship rivals Derby in the January transfer window (click here to read more).
The Yorkshire Evening Post has since claimed that the Rams actually reached out to the Whites over a loan deal for Martin, but the West Yorkshire outfit rejected the proposal.
The Northern Echo has credited Norwich City and Sunderland with interest in Martin, who has scored one goal in five Championship starts for Derby so far this season.

With Derby signing Cameron Jerome from Norwich for a transfer fee reported by The Derby Telegraph to be worth £1.5 million, Martin is only going to find it hard to get playing time between now and the end of the season.
Derby are doing well without the 29-year-old’s input this season and are in the running for one of the automatic promotion places.

Derby manager Gary Rowett has suggested that Martin could leave the Rams in the January transfer window, and told The Derby Telegraph: “The reality is that Chris Martin and Darren Bent at some point in this window will want to go and play football.
“I have spoken to those two players about it, they are in agreement with that and it will just be about seeing whether that interest (in them) becomes more concrete.”
