The Evening Standard report current Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez is the club’s new first choice target to replace David Moyes at the London Stadium – with the Spaniard reportedly interested in the move south providing the offer is right. Former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is also in the running, although the same report notes salary demands could be an issue.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta has been given a ringing endorsement for the vacant job at Arsenal by the man he would be replacing in Arsene Wenger.
Across town at Chelsea, Willian continues to be linked with a move to Saturday’s FA Cup final opponents Manchester United, under a cloud of discord at Stamford Bridge. That meeting at Wembley is widely reported to be Antonio Conte’s last in charge.
Tottenham Hotspur meanwhile have announced a new contract for midfielder Harry Winks, who becomes the second player this week to pen fresh terms following Cameron Carter-Vickers’ latest deal.
It isn’t all good news, however; German publication Express report the club are about to lose 18-year-old talent Keanan Bennett to Borussia Monchengladbach, the latest English prospect to turn to the Bundesliga for a quicker route into the first-team.
Fulham meanwhile may need to secure promotion to the Premier League if they wish to hold onto Ryan Fredericks next season. The Evening Standard report Crystal Palace and West Ham United are interested in offering him a route into the top flight should the Cottagers lose their playoff final to Aston Villa.
And with Steve McClaren’s arrival at Queens Park Rangers imminent, the Derby Telegraph report the manager is ready to raid one of his former clubs Derby County for striker Chris Martin.
