It’s been a poor start to the Championship season for Rotherham United, but their 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest proved that they’ve still got alot of fight left in them.
As reported by the Yorkshire Post, Stubbs has commented on how he felt about the performance.
“I thought that was our best performance of the season, but I thought we should have had the three points, although it feels like a moral victory,” said Stubbs, who added: “I must have run over a black cat with some of the luck that didn’t go our way.

“At 2-1 down the fans were right behind the team and I thought getting the equaliser was the least we deserved. Sometimes you do get the rewards when you put the hard work in.”
This is the club’s third successive season in the second tier following their promotion from League One, and despite flirting with the bottom three for a few years now they’ll be expecting to solidify their place in the division over the course of the next few years.
It’s also Stubbs’ first full season as manager following his move from Hibernian, and whilst it may take some time for him to adjust to managing in the Championship he’s certainly got the potential to be a top manager in Yorkshire.
The dramatic game saw three goals and a red card in the final 15 minutes, and the Millers will be hoping that they can use this result to jump start their season and move away from a potential relegation fight. That push will start this weekend when they take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
