Stubbs was dismissed by Rotherham on Wednesday while Evans remains out of work after leaving Leeds United in the summer.
Ex-Rotherham and Leeds United boss Evans
Rotherham United fans are calling for the reinstatement of ex-Leeds United boss Steve Evans after Alan Stubbs’ sacking on Wednesday.
Stubbs was only appointed by the Millers in June as Neil Warnock’s replacement, but has won just one and lost nine of his 13 Championship fixtures.

Needless to say Rotherham are currently bottom of the standings, six points adrift of safety, and with Warnock – who kept the club up from a similarly bleak predicament last season – recently joining Cardiff City, there is only one man for the job as far as most Millers fans are concerned.
Evans remains out of work after leaving Leeds, also in June, but began last season in charge at the New York Stadium, having led Rotherham to back-to-back promotions and kept them in the Championship at the first time of asking.
Despite steering the Millers away from the bottom three with successive victories in September last year, Evans’ contract was terminated by mutual consent, allowing him to take the reins at Leeds the following month.

Though the Scot’s appointment was met with widespread ridicule, Evans arguably enhanced his reputation at Elland Road, having picked Leeds up in 18th position and leaving them five places better off.
His return to South Yorkshire, therefore, would be most welcome it seems.
