Rotherham United manager Paul Warne has spoken highly of Leeds United, as quoted in The Yorkshire Post.

Warne has said that Leeds are the stand-out team in the Championship so far this season.

The Rotherham boss made the comments ahead of his side’s Championship match against the Whites at the AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Warne told The Yorkshire Post about Leeds: “I think they are excellent. They are like a little Manchester City with the way they play with the five up front in the five channels of the pitch.

“They back each other one-on-one all over the pitch, which not many teams in the Championship do and they make it hard for you.

“They are very athletic and there are not many times that we play against a team who I think are more athletic than us and they can all handle the ball. They are the stand-out team in the league, comfortably.”

Bouncing back

Leeds will be looking to return to winning ways against Rotherham and bounce back from their defeat to Stoke City away from home at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The performance of Marcelo Bielsa’s side against Stoke was quite disappointing, and the head coach and the fans will expect the players to step up.

With Rotherham fighting for survival in the Championship at the moment, Leeds should be confident of picking up all three points from the encounter at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The Whites are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 54 points from 28 matches, a point clear of second-placed Norwich City.
