A number of Rotherham United fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that the club confirmed on their official website on transfer deadline day that they have signed Rangers winger Jake Hastie on a season-long loan deal.

Hastie only arrived at Ibrox earlier in the summer and made two appearances for Steven Gerrard’s side at the start of this season, including one in the Europa League qualifier with St Joseph’s back in July.

But it appears that the Gers have decided that the 20-year-old would be better off spending the year away from the Scottish Premiership side, and have allowed the winger to join the Millers for the campaign.

Hastie was a revelation for Motherwell during the second-half of last season, scoring some outstanding goals to catch Rangers’ eye and earn a move to Ibrox ahead of the summer.

And that is perhaps why plenty of Rotherham fans are excited that they have managed to land the youngster on loan for the season.

They believe that he could be extremely dangerous in League One with his outstanding pace and ability to unleash a vicious shot from distance, and they are looking forward to seeing the wide-man in action for Paul Warne’s men in the coming weeks and months.
