Lamy failed to earn contracts at clubs including West Bromwich Albion and Nottingham Forest.

The French winger, Julien Lamy, looks set to join Rotherham United after recent spells at West Bromwich Albion and Nottingham Forest.
Youtube videos show Lamy – who was previously on the books of Stade Plabennec in French football’s fifth tier – undergoing trials at both West Brom and Nottingham Forest earlier this year.
But it was Rotherham for whom he auditioned most recently, appearing in two of the Millers’ Under-23 fixtures.
“I’m trying to bring him (Lamy) in,” confirmed the Rotherham manager, Paul Warne, via the Advertiser. “He can’t sign a contract until the summer. We’re trying to agree something with his agent, which I think we can do.
“I don’t think we’re 100 per cent there but we’re not far away.
“He’ll probably come in and train with us (again). We’re going to get him fit before the summer.
“The good thing is, we don’t have to pay him for a few months, which is always a Brucie Bonus!”

As well as West Brom and Nottingham Forest, Lamy also trialled at another of Rotherham’s Championship rivals, Hull City, in 2019.
The 19-year-old, who is most commonly found on the left of midfield despite being right-footed, was born in Paris parents of Cameroonian descent.
Rotherham currently occupy the second tier’s final relegation spot, but can climb to 19th with a win against Aston Villa on Wednesday.
Can Lamy make West Brom and Nottingham Forest regret not signing him at Rotherham?
