Wallace will miss the rest of Sheffield Wednesday’s season after surgery.

Ross Wallace has expressed a desire to return to Sheffield Wednesday next season.
Wallace, who is out of contract at the end of June, has been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign after undergoing surgery on Thursday.
The 32-year-old has been a key player for the Owls since his 2015 transfer from Burnley – scoring or creating 33 goals in that time.

And Wallace is hoping he will be given a chance to add to that tally during the 2018-19 campaign.
Posting on Instagram earlier, the Scot wrote: “Operation complete.Full recovery underway.Just want to thank the @swfc fans for your amazing support. Not the season I wanted or the team wanted but keep getting behind the lads to finish this season on a high.I am even more determined to get back to my best form hopefully back at Wednesday#swfc #seeyousoon”
It remains to be seen, however, if Wallace will be offered a new deal by Sheffield Wednesday, whose recently published accounts hint at a summer of cost-cutting ahead.
As well as Wallace, the contracts of Daniel Pudil, Glenn Loovens, Atdhe Nuhiu, Sean Clare and George Hirst are also due to expire at the end of this season.
The latter pair have, however, been offered fresh terms at Hillsborough, although they are said to be attracting interest from rival Championship and some Premier League clubs.
Should Wednesday give Wallace a new contract?
