Ross McCrorie responds to Glasgow Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha’s comments about him

Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have given Ross McCrorie plenty of chances this season.

Glasgow Rangers defender Ross McCrorie has told the Herald Scotland that Pedro Caixinha’s words about him gave him huge confidence.

Caixinha was dismissed by Rangers recently, and his relationship with a number of the Ibrox side’s player’s seemed strained towards the end of his tenure.

The Portuguese boss’s no nonsense style appeared to alienate many of Rangers key players.

But McCrorie felt that Caixinha was always good towards him, and his public praise of the defender went down well.

Caixinha suggested that McCrorie could become one of Scotland’s and Rangers’ best ever defenders.

And the 19-year-old has now responded to those comments, saying: “It was great to hear what he said about me. It gave you extra confidence and a boost.

“I had the Old Firm on the Saturday. For him to say that was great.”

McCrorie has played six matches for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership this term, with the youngster always impressing.

The centre-back has added a steel to Rangers’ back line, and has only been on the losing side once when selected.

McCrorie could remain in Rangers’ starting line-up at the weekend, when the Light Blues take on Hamilton.
