Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers star Ross McCrorie speaks highly of his Ibrox teammate Lee Wallace.
Rangers youngster Ross McCrorie
McCrorie has been at Rangers since 2012 and has established himself as an important player in manager Steven Gerrard’s team.
The 20-year-old is a very versatile footballer who can operate as a defender or as a midfielder.
Wallace has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2011 when he joined from Heart of Midlothian for a transfer fee reported by The Scotsman to be worth £1.5 million.
Rangers youngster McCrorie has outlined how Wallace has influenced him.
McCrorie told The Scottish Sun: “Lee was a big influence on me as a captain when I first trained with the first team at 16.
“Back then I was quiet and a bit nervous but when Lee spoke to me the nerves went away straight away.
“He took me under his wing. He always spoke to me, especially when I had my two loans spells away.
“He would take me to one side and ask how I was getting on. He made me feel a part of it straight away.”

Quality footballer
McCrorie is a very good and promising young footballer whose versatility to operate as a defender or as a midfielder can only help him in the coming years.
Wallace is a very good left-back and a former Rangers captain, and it is great to see the 31-year-old Scotland international positively influence McCrorie.
Rangers are aiming to challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season and have also progressed to the group stage of the Europa League.
