Ross McCrorie and Robby McCrorie have left Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers on loan deals.
Ross McCrorie of Rangers
McCrorie, who can operate as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder, has joined Portsmouth in League One in England on a season-long loan deal from Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers.
The 21-year-old has explained his decision to make the switch, and the Scottish youngster is excited at the prospect of playing in England.
Ross McCrorie told Portsmouth’s official website: “It was a no-brainer for me – coming to a big club and being able to showcase what I can do. I’m really looking forward to it.”
The youngster added: “I’m hoping to develop and become a more rounded player. Even just moving away from home will help me to mature.
“You’re always looking to improve in every aspect of your game and I just want to be the best I can be.”

Ross McCrorie’s twin brother Robby McCrorie has also left Rangers on loan, joining Queen of the South on loan for the 2019-20 campaign.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper has said that a chat with Rangers first-choice custodian Allan McGregor convinced him to make the loan move.
Robby McCrorie told The Glasgow Evening Times: “I’ve got a good relationship with all the goalkeepers at Rangers and I’ve spoken with Greegsy quite a bit. He says to me to go out and play games, that’s what he did when he was younger.
“I’ve got that opportunity at Queen of the South and I hope to build a solid base to then kick on at Rangers again one day.”
Good decision from the McCrorie brothers
Both Ross McCrorie and his brother Robby are very good and promising young players, and it made sense for the two 21-year-olds to make the move elsewhere on loans.
The youngsters will hope to make positive impact at their respect clubs on loan during the 2019-20 campaign.
