The Villans have endured a disappointing start to life in the Championship.
Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack has urged the club’s players to remain patient with the rotation policy this season, speaking to the club’s official website.
The Villans were busy in the transfer market as manager Roberto di Matteo brought in eight new players.
He spent heavily improving his forward line in particular with big money moves for McCormack and Jonathan Kodjia.
His transfer dealings mean he now has numerous options across the park, especially up front.
That is likely to see him rotating his starting line up across a busy Championship campaign and McCormack has urged his teammates to remain patient with the policy.
“We’ve got a lot of good players,” he told the club’s official website.
“Everybody is going to have to be patient, whether it’s rotating players here and there, not everybody can play at the same time. It’s important that everyone buys into it.”
Aston Villa have not started this season well, currently sitting 18th in the table with just six points from their first six games.
They were left disappointed at the weekend once again as Nottingham Forest struck late to secure a 2-2 draw in a game Villa had dominated.
With their fans hoping to see them make an instant return to the Premier League this year, it is fair to say disappointment is rife at Villa Park at this moment in time.
Their team is still settling, though, and perhaps when that happens they will manage to go on a winning run to help them move up the table.
