Everton won against Crystal Palace in the Premier League at the weekend.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman has suggested to The Liverpool Echo that he was impressed with the performance of Ross Barkley at the weekend.
Barkley featured for Everton in the Premier League game against Crystal Palace away from home on Saturday afternoon.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder started the match at Selhurst Park in London and played until the second minute of injury time.
Koeman was impressed with the performance of the England international in the game, which Everton won 1-0.

“We speak a lot with Ross about what we need in the team from his qualities,” Koeman told The Liverpool Echo. “And we know if you are a midfield player you need to run, you need to work, you need to defend.
“Against Crystal Palace he was a really that player in the midfield. He was always free, he had good control of the ball, he had a good shot in the first half, a good assist for scoring goals – and that’s what we need.”
| Season | Passing Accuracy | Tackles Won | Interceptions Won | Ball Recovery | Touches | Shots on Target | Goal Assist | Goals | Appearances | Mins Played | |

| Ross Barkley | 2016-2017 | 83% | 13 | 4 | 83 | 1,162 | 19 | 4 | 3 | 20 | 1,567 |

Koeman’s comments about Barkley are very much encouraging, and Everton fans as well as the player himself will surely love them.
The 23-year-old is one of the most talented attacking midfielders in the Premier League, but he has not always been consistent.
The Englishman still has room for improvement, but Koeman’s comments suggests that he is getting better.
For Barkley to become the star of this Everton team, he needs to do exactly what Koeman tells him to do.
Everton are seventh in the Premier League table at the moment with 36 points from 22 matches.
