The Everton star seems to have rediscovered his best form over recent weeks.

Toffees midfielder Ross Barkley sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and opened up on the new role that Ronald Koeman has asked him to perform recently, and how it has coincided with his return to form.
The 23-year-old midfielder struggled earlier on in the campaign, and had to endure lengthy spells on the substitutes bench after his lacklustre performances came under scrutiny, with fans and pundits alike questioning his commitment to the Everton side.
On the face of it, Barkley has actually enjoyed a fairly productive season, with four goals and five assists coming in the 23 Premier League games in which he has played, but it has been his overall contribution to the team which has dramatically improved in recent weeks.
And Barkley shared how his return to form could very well be down to the new role in which he has been playing, after Koeman changed the position that he was usually accustomed to, as quoted by EvertonFC.com:

“I’m playing either inside left or inside right off the striker, helping out the midfield and getting back to dig in. It gives me licence to roam around the pitch and try to create chances. I’m hoping to play anywhere on the pitch but I’m enjoying where I am at the minute. I like playing all over midfield so wherever I am you see different things from different sides of the pitch. I’m happy wherever I play.”
The Blues currently sit comfortably in seventh position in the Premier League table, with one eye on Arsenal in fourth place.
They are just nine points behind the Gunners, and if they can continue their fine run of form, a place inside the Champions League spots may not be entirely out of reach just yet.
