Everton star Ross Barkley has told the Liverpool Echo that Ronald Koeman has told him he must find another 15-20% to find the next level in his game.
The midfielder endured a mixed campaign last year, posting his best numbers to date in terms of goals and assists but struggling struggled to find consistency as the Blues seriously underperformed.
His struggles did not go unnoticed either, with former England manager Roy Hodgson electing to ignore him throughout Euro 2016.
It has been all change at Goodison Park this summer though; with the arrival of Ronald Koeman meaning Barkley has the chance to start afresh under the Dutchman.

He is keen to shake off the tag of potential and become a Premier League star and says Koeman has told him what he must do to achieve that.
“All of the lads have had a meeting with the gaffer and he’s said to me that he expects another 15-20% from me to get to the next level,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“I can’t be classed as potential anymore, I know I’ve got to show what I can do. I’ve showed it in glimpses throughout the years and, obviously, I want a more consistent performance.”

All eyes will now be on what method that Ronald Koeman employs to try and get the best out of Barkley.
Former manager Roberto Martinez was keen to allow him to make mistakes but all indications have been that the Dutchman wants to see the midfielder take on more responsibility, especially defensively.
So far it appears to be having a positive affect and Everton fans will be hoping this season is the one he finally becomes the star they believe he can be.
