The Everton midfielder was asked if he would ever make the move to Liverpool.
Everton’s Ross Barkley celebrates
Toffees midfielder Ross Barkley sat down for an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, and responded to comments made by Phil Thompson, regarding the chance of him moving to fierce rivals Liverpool.
The 23-year-old actually started the season out of form, and found himself to be the target of heavy criticism after a succession of lacklustre displays.
He has managed to turn his season around, however, and has been exceptional of late, driving his side on into contention for a place inside the top four.
Barkley’s performances have been to such a high standard of late that even Liverpool legend Phil Thompson found the time to praise him, and admitted that he would like to see him at Anfield.
And the Everton midfielder spoke exclusively to Sky Sports, offering his response to a question asking him if he would ever cross the divide:

“You’ve got to take positives from it. He must really believe that I’m a good player! But that would never happen. I would never cross the line to go to the other side.”
Ronald Koeman’s side are on a fantastic run in the Premier League, and harbour genuine ambitions of forcing their way inside the top four.
And if Barkley can continue his impressive run of form, then who knows how far they can go this season.
