The England international looks likely to leave Everton and should join up with Jose Mourinho.
Lampard signs off at Chelsea
Everton midfielder Ross Barkley looks like he is on his way out of the club. The England international has not yet signed an extension to a deal that expires next summer and Ronald Koeman made it clear the implications of not doing so – he would be sold.
Tottenham Hotspur were the early favourites to sign him but that interest has cooled and now Manchester United are being linked – with the Mirror reporting they are keen on the £20 million-rated talent.

With United keen, the Everton midfielder should seriously consider making a move to Old Trafford.
Working with Jose Mourinho could be the making of Barkley, who could easily become Manchester United’s very own Frank Lampard.

The Chelsea legend owes much to Mourinho. The Portuguese helped turn the player into a decent player into a game-changer. Like Barkley, Lampard was not scoring the amount of goals he should have been before working with Mourinho. He scored a then career best 19 goals in his first season under Mourinho before going on to score regularly and become Chelsea’s record top-scorer with 211 goals after the Portuguese left Stamford Bridge.
Barkley, arguably, has more natural ability than the retired Chelsea legend and the Everton star must make his next choice wisely. Playing under Mourinho could see him become United’s very own Lampard in the years to come.
