Should Tottenham fans be worried about the similarities between Danny Rose’s anger and Kyle Walker’s before he left for Manchester City?

Danny Rose says that there has not been a fallout between himself and Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino after being left out of the North London derby.

Rose was on the bench for the 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the weekend in a decision that left the left-back “fuming” but apparently did not lead to a bust-up with Pochettino.

“My reaction was I was fuming, I was angry. But understanding at the same time,” the 27-year-old was quoted by the Telegraph.

“There’s been no bust-up, there’s been no argument. There’s been no falling out. The manager just explained that he thought it’d be better for me to do a hard session on Saturday, which I did. I did that.

“Me and the manager have not fallen out, not had an argument. I was angry about not being involved in the squad, but at the same time, I understand and I respect his views.”

Rose was recalled into the starting XI for Spurs’ 2-1 Champions League victory at Borussia Dortmund, but after previously being forced to apologise for an interview he gave to the Sun criticising the club’s transfer policies and wage structure, where the future lies for the England international remains unclear.

In fact this anger at being left out of the team has worrying similarities to the gripes Kyle Walker had at Tottenham before he left for Manchester City over the summer.

The Independent reported in May, a little over two months before Walker joined City, that a rift had grown between the right-back and Pochettino after he was left on the bench for the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea and, you guessed it, the North London derby.

The Argentine is known to be a tough operator and if recent history is anything to go by, the signals appear to be pointing to an imminent exit from the club for Rose.
