Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Ryan Sessegnon.
The January transfer window only ended a matter of weeks ago, but there is already a focus being placed on Tottenham Hotspur’s potential summer signings.
Spurs ended the January window with one new signing as Brazilian winger Lucas Moura arrived from Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day, boosting Mauricio Pochettini’s attacking options.
Now though, Tottenham may already be eyeing up one summer signing, with Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon continuously being linked with a move to North London at the end of the season.
Former manager Leroy Rosenior has now told the Totally Football Show that he thinks Sessegnon already has a summer move lined up, suggesting that Tottenham have already positioned themselves to sign the teenager.
Sessegnon, 17, has come up through the ranks with Fulham before emerging as a first-team star, hitting seven goals in 30 games last season and a superb record of 12 goals in 35 games this term.
As one of England’s top young talents, Sessegnon would be a major coup for Tottenham, but if he does sign – as Rosenior claims – then it would suggest that Danny Rose’s time at Spurs is coming to an end.
Ben Davies’ impressive season means that Rose is already struggling to start, and landing a similar player in terms of pace and attacking ability and ten years younger could make this the ideal time to sell Rose.
The 27-year-old hinted that he was unhappy at Spurs last summer in an interview with The Sun, and with Spurs unlikely to carry three left backs in their squad next season, it makes sense to bring in Sessegnon and offload Rose in a big-money deal, rather than continue to plug on with Rose when he doesn’t appear to be fully committed anymore.
