Everton should move for the Ajax player not the Manchester United man.

According to a report from the Mirror, Everton manager Ronald Koeman has made Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen his top target this summer, with any potential move for Wayne Rooney likely to be scuppered if the Dutchman arrives at Goodison Park.
The Toffees boss sees Klaassen as his ideal new number 10 – the same position he would look to play Rooney if the Manchester United skipper made a dramatic return to Merseyside – and in truth the Ajax star is a far better option than the fading England international.
Klaassen is just 24, seven years younger than Rooney and reaching the peak of his career.
So far this season, the alleged Everton target has scored 19 goals and provided 12 assists in 46 appearances.
In contrast, Rooney has scored seven and set up 10 in 33 games, with minor injuries taking their toll.
Many Everton fans may welcome Rooney back with open arms, but if they want to reach the next level they should be looking to the future, not the past.

If he could replicate his best form, Klaassen would go down a storm at Everton, adding guile and creativity to the midfield and ensuring they kick on next season and beyond.
Rooney’s would be the headline-grabbing transfer but Klaassen’s could propel Everton to the next level.
