Wayne Rooney is reportedly prepared to snub DC United and stay with Everton if Sam Allardyce leaves the club.

Rooney is in advanced talks with MLS franchise DC United and it looked as if a move to the USA was as good as finalised for the striker.

Allardyce has made it clear to majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri that he doesn’t see the 32-year-old in his plans going forward, which was why the former England captain was given permission to talk to DC.
However, Rooney would be prepared to stay around and see what a new boss had to say about the forward’s future at Goodison Park.

Moshiri now has a big decision to make, with it not yet clear whether Allardyce will remain in the dugout with fans growing increasingly frustrated with the 63-year-old’s style of football.
Rooney is a boyhood Toffees fan who came through the academy at the club and is also their top scorer this season with 11 goals, so if most supporters had to make a decision about who they would like to remain on Merseyside it’s clear most would pick the attacker.
