Ex-Leeds United attacker Kemar Roofe is in a strange situation at Anderlecht.

When he left Leeds United this summer, Kemar Roofe will have been thinking he’d made a great move, joining Belgian giants Anderlecht.
Anderlecht may have finished 6th last season, but they’re a regular in European football, and had just made an interesting managerial appointment.
They decided to bring back former defender Vincent Kompany, hiring him as a player/manager having seen his Manchester City contract expire at the end of last season.
The 33-year-old came up through the Anderlecht ranks, so his return home was an emotional one, but a move into managing whilst continuing his playing career seemed like a gamble.
So far, it hasn’t gone well. In four league games, Kompany over two defeats and two goalless draws, and they’ve already decided to make a change in the dugout.
Kompany will no longer be player/manager on matchdays, and will instead hand over all tactical work to coach Simon Davies, who followed him from City to Belgium.

There seems to be some chaos at Anderlecht now, and Roofe – who is yet to even make his debut for the club due to injury – is now left in a strange position, as the manager he signed for is no longer his manager, and is just his teammate instead.
That sounds like a chapter from the Massimo Cellino era at Leeds, and Whites fans have been taking to Twitter to react, asking whether Roofe wants to come back to Elland Road already, with some mocking his decision to go and others expecting him back in English football inside a year.
