Kemar Roofe might just be available for Rangers clash against Celtic next week.
Parkhead plays host to the first Old Firm derby of the season on Saturday week but one of the Gers’ summer additions had previously been a doubt.
Roofe, a £4.5 million signing by Rangers during the summer, hasn’t kicked a ball under Steven Gerrard since the Europa League win over Lincoln Red Imps on September 17, making him a doubt for the trip to Celtic.
But the English attacker has posted a cryptic Instagram message, uploading a photo of his boots in what could be considered a hint that he’s back in training [The Scottish Sun].
The 27-year-old had two goals in five Premiership games for Rangers prior to his latest injury.
And with Alfredo Morelos’s dismal record in Old Firm games against Celtic, Gerrard might well need a goalscorer of Roofe’s talents in the derby next week.
The Hoops are one point behind the light Blues at the top of the Premiership table, though Neil Lennon’s charges have a game in hand.
