Ryan Christie joined Celtic from Inverness Caledonian Thistle on transfer deadline day.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila has told The Scottish Sun that Ryan Christie has a big future.

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic signed the 20-year-old midfielder from Inverness Caledonian Thistle on transfer deadline day.

The young Scot is not part of the Bhoys’ first-team squad for the 2015-16 campaign, as he has been sent back to Inverness on a season-long loan deal.

Celtic manager Deila, though, rates Christie highly and believes that the youngster has a bright future.

“In Scotland we have very good control with what’s happening,” the Norwegian told The Scottish Sun. “I’m very happy to get Ryan Christie signed for Celtic, he has a big future.”

Strong start

Celtic have made a strong start to the 2015-16 Scottish Premiership campaign and are favourites to win the league title.

The Hoops are at the top of the standings at the moment with 16 points from six matches, a point clear of Aberdeen, who are currently second and have a game in hand.

Celtic will take on Aberdeen away from home at the Pittodrie Stadium in the Premiership this afternoon.
