Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo can look forward to some VIP treatment at the World Cup as reports suggest he will live in luxury.
Portugal’s World Cup chances are dependent on the form of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and it seems he will be treated with care in Brazil.
The Portuguese have been drawn in Group G, which is widely regarded as the ‘Group of Death’ as it also contains Germany, Ghana and the USA.
It will be a tough campaign for Portugal, who are listed at 28/1 to win the competition with most bookmakers, the same odds as England.
The man who can overcome those odds is Cristiano Ronaldo, who arrives at the World Cup after a fantastic campaign in La Liga and Europe.
Coach Paulo Bento has reportedly selected a luxury resort and granted Ronaldo a VIP suite with specially heated mirrors that don’t steam up, aromatic pillows and his own team of personal bodyguards.
The Campinas resort is already preparing for the arrival of Ronaldo and he can expect to be treated like royalty.
“We are really honoured to be able to welcome the best player in the world,” manager Armindo Dias enthused.
“He seems like a genuine person who isn’t pretentious.”
Portugal start their World Cup campaign on June 16 with a crunch encounter against Germany in Salvador.
