The Leeds United midfielder was superb against Aston Villa.

Leeds United midfielder Ronald Vieira had to watch from the stands as Kalvin Phillips and Eunan O’Kane excelled in the recent victory against Barnsley, so much so that some Whites fans wondered if the teenager would return to the starting XI immediately after his one-match suspension.
They need not have worried, with Vieira starting for Leeds against Aston Villa on Friday evening and delivering one of his best performances in the club’s colours.
It was a timely reminder of Vieira’s ability in the centre of the park, with the Leeds man laying down a marker to those teammates hoping to force him out of the starting line-up in the weeks ahead.

On this evidence, they have no chance, with the 19-year-old impressing throughout Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Villa; a game the Whites could and perhaps should have won, but one that also showed how far they have come after a terrible run earlier in the campaign.
Vieira is going to be a superstar in time and, if he can play as he did last week over the hectic Christmas and New Year schedule, Leeds should get some more vital wins under their belts.
Only Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen knows why he was so reluctant to play the youngster earlier in the campaign, but he is now un-droppable.
