Leeds United picked up a dramatic 3-2 victory over Norwich City last weekend.
Ronaldo Vieira has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that Leeds United boss Garry Monk’s encouragement, after they conceded for a second time against Norwich City, was a massive help.
Leeds appeared to be on their way to three points at Carrow Road last weekend, when Chris Wood put them into a 2-1 lead.
However, Kyle Lafferty found the back of the net in the 87th minute to level things back up.
Leeds could have folded, after conceding such a late goal, but instead the Yorkshire side came back stronger.
And they got their reward when Vieira smashed in his first goal for the Whites from long-range to seal the three points.
“We never really gave up because like the gaffer always says, the attitude of this team is just unbelievable,” the 18-year-old said. “If another team had conceded that goal then their heads would have just gone down but the gaffer just said ‘keep your heads up’.
“As soon as they scored he just started clapping, saying ‘keep going, keep going’. Everyone kept going and happily we got the goal.”
Leeds’ victory against Norwich moved them up into the top six in the Championship table, after a wonderful run of form.
Leeds have won nine of their last 12 matches to increase optimism around Elland Road.
Leeds are next in action after the international break, when they take on Newcastle United in front of a packed Elland Road crowd.
