Ronaldo Vieira has taken to Instagram to send out a clear message regarding the mood in the Leeds camp ahead of their crunch clash with Newcastle on Friday.

Garry Monk’s men travel to St James’ Park knowing that the game could have major implications for the state of the promotion race in the Championship with the Whites currently fifth in the table, just five points above the chasing pack currently situated outside the top six.

But they face one of the toughest games possible with Newcastle just two points off the table’s summit with five games to go.

Understandably therefore, Vieira’s social media post depicted a fairly intense looking scene in training with the 18-year-old working with Eunan O’Kane – a player he may perhaps line up alongside, or may, in fact, be competing against for a spot in the team – and was accompanied by a simple statement from the youngster.

Although Newcastle may be too far ahead of the play-off places to be caught – though a victory for Leeds would open the door ever so slightly – picking up a win would send out a great message to the other teams the Whites are hoping to compete against in the play-offs.

Leeds arguably did not give a particularly good account of themselves in the previous meeting between the two clubs, and Friday’s game provides the perfect opportunity for Monk’s men to show how far they have come since then.
