Leeds United kick off their playoff campaign today.

Ronaldo Vieira has sent a good luck message to Leeds United.
Leeds visit Derby County in the first leg of their playoff semi-final.
For so long it looked like Marcelo Bielsa’s side would secure automatic promotion to the Premier League, but a disastrous end to the regular season means that the Whites will need to endure the anguish of the playoffs.
Vieira joined Sampdoria in an £7.7 million move last summer [BBC Sport], having come through the club’s Thorp Arch academy, and the 20-year-old has sent a message to his former club on Twitter:
Vieira hasn’t been a major hit in Italy and hasn’t kicked a ball for Sampdoria since April 6, despite regularly making the match-day squad.
Given his potential, Leeds took a major risk in offloading him last summer, but few can argue that Bielsa’s side have missed him.
There have been times when his tenacity would have come in handy, but for the most part United are a better side without him. That being said, there’s nothing to say that they wouldn’t be even better with him.
He has started only six of his 12 Serie A appearances this season.
Aston Villa face West Brom in the other playoff semi-final this afternoon.
