Leeds United fans on Twitter have called on Ronaldo Vieira to come back.

Ronaldo Vieira had a decent first season in his post-Leeds United career.

The 20-year-old swapped Leeds for Sampdoria last summer in a £7.7 million deal [BBC Sport] which frustrated a lot of Whites fan, given that he had come through the club’s Thorp Arch academy en route to being a big first-team player in recent years.

Vieira had a 20-minute cameo in the Italian club’s end-of-season 2-0 win over Juventus this past weekend, which was his 14th Serie A appearance.

He might’ve hoped to play more when he originally left Elland Road but, given his age and new surroundings, it was by no means a failed first year abroad and judging by the tone of his post-match message on Twitter, he feels every bit a Sampdoria player.

Vieira was a fan favourite in West Yorkshire, not only for his Thorp Arch roots but because of the technique and tenacity that he brought to the Leeds side.

And some supporters have responded to his tweet by saying that they’d love him back.
