Ronaldo Vieira has told Leeds’ official website that it was an easy decision to sign a new contract at Elland Road, and suggested that there may not be any limit to what the team could achieve next season.

And while Garry Monk’s departure soon after the news was announced overshadowed the midfielder’s new deal, there is no question that once the dust settles and a new man is appointed, the fans will get back to celebrating the fact that one of the Championship’s brightest prospects has committed the next few years of his career to the club.

And speaking after signing the new deal, Vieira explained how difficult a decision it was to sign and expressed his optimism regarding the club’s future.

“To stay at Leeds after the season I have had feels unreal, it is unbelievable and I am over the moon to sign a new deal,” he told the club’s official website.

“I can’t wait for next season, the atmosphere at the last game of the season was unbelievable, if that continues next year, who knows what we can do,” he went on to add.

As mentioned, when a new manager is unveiled at Elland Road and the season kicks off, the fans will surely start getting back to being delighted that Vieira is set to stay.

The teenager was excellent during his first full season in the first-team, and should only continue to get better with more experience.

And while some players may be worried about their future first-team prospects following Monk’s departure, Vieira is surely one member of the squad who can prove a focal point of the side no matter who is in charge.
