The Leeds United youngster has the talent to excel at Elland Road.
Leeds United teenager Ronaldo Vieira has been speaking to BBC Radio Leeds after his impressive performance against Atlanta in pre-season.
The 18-year-old played 82 minutes for the Whites against the Italian side, helping his team to a 2-1 victory that came courtesy of goals from Chris Wood and Kemar Roofe.
Big things are expected of Leeds’ summer signings but Vieira could also have a say after breaking through at the end of the previous season and seizing his chances during the build up to the next campaign.
When asked how Leeds manager Garry Monk gets the best out of him, Vieira told BBC Radio Leeds, “He says be brave and get on the ball.”
It is a simple statement yet it is one that not all manager encourage, with mistakes sometimes frowned upon but Vieira and his Leeds teammates allowed to take chances that may not always pay off.
With Lewis Cook leaving the Whites this summer there is space for another talented young midfielder to take up the mantle and Vieira could be that player.
He certainly hopes to be part of Monk’s plans moving forward, saying, “Hopefully yes, right now I have been with the first-team throughout pre-season and I would like to stay here and see how it goes.
He ended by commenting on Leeds’ chances of making the top six this season, saying, “I think so. We have got the team for it.”
