Leeds United got themselves back to winning ways in the Championship with a hugely impressive 3-0 win over Bristol City.

Ronaldo Vieira has told LUTV that Leeds’ three central midfielders were instructed before their clash with Bristol City on Saturday to go out and dominate the battle in the middle of the park, and the youngster also reserved plenty of praise for Kalvin Phillips following the 3-0 win.
Thomas Christiansen’s men took a major leap towards putting their recent run of three straight defeats behind them as they beat fellow high-flyers Bristol City 3-0 at Ashton Gate.

One of the main reasons for the victory appeared to be Thomas Christiansen’s tactical reshuffle, with Vieira coming into the side for his first league start of the campaign and Phillips seemingly pushing further forward to offer more support in attack.
And the strategy could seemingly have not gone better for the Whites, with Leeds claiming an emphatic win that moved them up to fourth in the table heading into a massive week for the side.

And Vieira explained after the game that the side knew going into the contest how important winning the midfield battle would be, and added how impressed he was by Phillips’ performance.
“Obviously Kalv is a really powerful player and helped me and Eunan back there as well. And when we needed to get forward, he was there as well so I thought he did really well today.”
After a handful of weeks where Leeds’ inability to surprise opponents had seemingly cost them, Christiansen will be extremely relieved that the tactics for Saturday proved so effective, and he may perhaps be allowing himself to be somewhat excited about how good the team could become if the brilliant win is a sign of what may lie ahead for Leeds.
