Leeds United can’t cash in on another academy talent.da

Leeds United cashed in on Ronaldo Vieira for £7 million in the summer.
Now they have been linked with selling Kalvin Phillips.
Teamtalk report 12 Premier League sides are interested in Phillips, including Arsenal and Tottenham.
Leeds have moved forward without Ronaldo Vieira and sit top of the table, but Phillips is a different matter.
While Vieira was not in manager Marcelo Bielsa’s plans, Phillips clearly is.
He is a key cog in Bielsa’s Leeds team, and while not irreplaceable, the Whites will be weaker if they cash in.
Mid-season, it would be a terrible move.

In the summer, Leeds would have more time to plan and seek out a replacement, if selling was financially appealing.
Phillips is one of the players who has really bought into Bielsa’s style, and the work ethic required.
For Leeds to buy a replacement who could settle so soon in January and not disrupt their progress is a big ask, and it would needlessly disrupt their progress.
