Ronaldo Vieira has admitted to LUTV that he needs to learn from his sloppy red card in Leeds United’s defeat at Wolves last month.
The Championship leaders put Leeds to the sword with a 4-1 win at Molineux in a game where Vieira was sent off on the hour mark for a second booking, when the Whites were only 2-1 down.
But his dismissal saw Wolves romp to a comfortable victory in the end and the 19-year-old midfielder sat out the 2-0 win at Barnsley through suspension. It was his first red card for United.
Vieira is one of the finest young players in the Championship following his brilliant breakthrough season under Garry Monk last term, but the teenager admits that he needs to learn from his lesson in the West Midlands.
He told LUTV when asked if he learned a harsh lesson: “Yeah you’ve got to learn with stuff like that. It’s gone now and I’m past it. All the boys were very supportive, and the gaffer, so I’m over it.”
United travel to QPR on Saturday as Thomas Christiansen’s side look to bridge the five-point gap between themselves and the top six.
The Elland Road side have won three of their last four games, but that form is needed throughout the month of December.
If Leeds come out of the hectic festive period with their promotion hopes still intact and prospering then it’ll go a long way to strengthening their chances of returning to the top flight come May.
