Ronaldo Vieira comments on Leeds United ‘Together’ mosaic

Leeds United won against Middlesbrough at Elland Road in the Championship at the weekend.

Leeds United midfielder Ronaldo Vieira has told BBC Radio Leeds that the fans helped the team win against Middlesbrough at the weekend.

The West Yorkshire outfit returned to winning ways on Sunday afternoon, as they got the better of Middlesbrough 2-1 at Elland Road.

Pablo Hernandez put the Whites in the lead after 24 minutes, and Ezgjan Alioski doubled the advantage nine minutes into the second half.

Although Britt Assombalonga halved the deficit for the visiting team from the penalty spot in the 77th minute, the home side held on for all three points.

Vieira started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, and the 19-year-old England Under-20 international has underlined the importance of the fans.

A mosaic was on show in the East Stand to reveal the club’s motto ‘Together’, while Leeds fans were provided with flags, as the club made a grand gesture ahead of the game against Middlesbrough on Sunday.

Vieira has revealed that everyone noticed the ‘Together’ sign and has described the support against Middlesbrough as ‘unbelievable’.

The midfielder told BBC Radio Leeds when asked about the ‘Together’ mosaic and the flags: “I think everyone noticed. It was unbelievable, the support again. It wasn’t just us but the fans as well, they helped us through this game.”
