Superbly named Leeds United youngster featured for the club’s under-21 side on Monday.
Leeds United teenager Ronaldo Vieira was handed a chance for the under-21 side on Monday in their match against Crewe.
He started the game, alongside under-21 regulars Tyler Denton and Lewie Coyle, although there was no Lee Erwin, Souleymane Doukara or Casper Sloth.
Leeds lost the game 2-0, and Ronaldo Vieira posted on his Instagram page after the match.
He wrote: “Not the result we wanted but just got to get on with it.”
His words show his determination to improve, far from being simply happy to play at under-21 level, he wanted to win – an essential attitude if he is to progress to the first team.
The Portuguese teenager turned 17 earlier this year, and featured in a friendly for the first team against Tadcaster Albion in the pre-season, before signing professional terms with the club in September, agreeing a two year contract.
His icon-laden name means he will be a standout player on any teamsheet, and there is a whole lot of work to do if he is to become a great, but his early involvement with the under-21 side is an encouraging sign.
